The Start of Something New : Gardening

pathway through the garden in fall by chris gardiner photography www.cgardiner.ca
Our pathway through the garden in fall after it's been overrun by weeds.

A big part of good food is good product. The more you know about what you are cooking, the better you will make it taste without even trying.  So why would I pass up the opportunity to grow some of my own food?

We had high hopes for this summer.  We had just moved into a new place in winter, and were looking forward to having a bit of land we could garden with.  Boy did we bite off more than we could chew.  Planning a wedding all summer definitely didn't leave us with much time for gardening, but we have a solid foundation to build upon for next year.  The end goal ;

Our Sustainable and Organic Garden

Starting a 35'x100' plot of land as a first time garden may sound stupid to some.  Apparently not us.  And city balcony gardens don't count towards your first time either.  This was a whole new ballgame.  In fact, we will get right into it in more than one or two posts.  This one is just an introduction. A welcoming to the idea that we will be showing you great food on every step of its journey.

So the stage has been set. Our garden, pictured above.

Look forward to walking through the steps with us of planning it out, and making it all happen over the next year.

Also, look forward to this blog actually getting rolling! We're ready to eat over here and share some awesome recipes while we are at it!
